Our Machine Shop History
In 1975, A.V. Elliott opened the doors of Elliott Machine Shop and began serving the industries in and around Central Georgia.
Growing Alongside Our Customers
What started out as A.V.’s 4,000 square-foot building with just 5 employees has since grown into a 60,000 square-foot facility, operated by over 80 employees. With 40+ years of consistent growth, Elliott Machine Shop has the knowledge and experience to handle a variety of customer’s service needs.
We also now feature over 200 types of machining equipment, allowing us to provide specialized maintenance and repairs, spare & wear parts, rebuilds, and more.
In the 1970s, Elliott Machine Shop’s market was the kaolin industry. Since then, we have expanded to industries that include various types of mining, pulp and paper, wood mills, water treatment, and food products.

Elliott Machine Shop is Now an ESOP Company
In 2007, A.V. Elliott decided to transition out of the company by way of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Elliott Machine Shop is now 100% employee owned. He didn’t want to sell the company and walk away—he wanted to make sure his skilled, highly valued employees retained employment after the transition.
Becoming an ESOP company has changed the culture of our company for the better. It has given working employees a way to personally benefit from our growth and profitability. As owners, our employees are very invested. We all step up to claim responsibility and everyone reaps the rewards of a job well done.
